November 19, 2024 Trip to Tsumagoi Village

A Japanese serow I encountered on the way back to Tsumagoi Village from Jigokudani Monkey Park. The photo above was taken at PENTAX K-1II & D FA150-450. The two black and white photos were taken with a PENTAX MZ-S & Sigma APO 500/f4.5 & ILFORD HP5 A serow we encountered later in the evening in Tsumagoi Village. PENTAX K-1II & D FA150-450

Rosalia batesi beetle

I found a little gem in my backyard. It was a Rosalia batesi beetle. In Japanese Ruri-Boshi-Kamikiri.Ruri means blue, Boshi(Hoshi) means Star or speckles, Kamikiri means Long-horned beetle.
